In a moving display of devotion and community commitment, GHR Global, led by the Chairman, his family, and dedicated team members, recently hosted the annual Katina Chivara Poojawa at the renowned Gangaramaya Temple. This cherished Buddhist celebration, spanning five memorable days, brought the community together and subtly underscored GHR's commitment to tradition, generosity, and shared values.
The event began on Monday, November 4th, when the sacred Katina Chivara robe was welcomed at GHR’s Marketing Office, providing the public an opportunity to visit, offer prayers, and participate in the spiritual experience. This initial phase offered individuals a serene space for reflection and reverence in alignment with the event’s spiritual essence. On Friday, November 8th, a grand Perahera procession carried the Katina Chivara from the Marketing Office to Gangaramaya Temple. Reflecting the grandeur of Sri Lankan Buddhist traditions, the procession featured traditional dancers, drummers, and other cultural elements, creating a vibrant atmosphere of devotion and unity. Upon reaching the temple, a special prayer session was conducted for the organizers, the GHR team, and the gathered public, reinforcing GHR's subtle dedication to values such as compassion, truthfulness, and community spirit. This was followed by a warm almsgiving, during which monks from Gangaramaya Temple and over 200 attendees were served food. Corundum, GHR’s hotel management arm, contributed to the catering alongside others, ensuring hospitality for all present.
The event also saw generous contributions from GHR’s team members, who collectively donated funds, essential items, and supplies for the ceremony, reinforcing a shared commitment to both tradition and community support. Through this annual Katina Chivara Poojawa, GHR Global not only celebrates its respect for cultural and spiritual practices but also subtly showcases its values of authenticity, humility, and dedication to the community it serves.
