World Down Syndrome Day: GHR’s Celebration in Galle

On Sunday, 15 March 2026, GHR supported a special community event in Galle as the main sponsor, held in the lead-up to World Down Syndrome Day on 21 March 2026. Hosted at Ligness Green Odyssey, Galle, the programme brought together children and families for a day centred on inclusion, encouragement, and shared connection.

Organised by Ceylon Pros with Ikonic Media as the event partner, the celebration featured fun outdoor games, yoga and swimming sessions, a hotel-style lunch, parent support and guidance sessions, social awareness segments, and talent showcases. As part of GHR’s CSR efforts, the event created a welcoming space where children could take part freely while parents connected, learned, and felt supported.

Led by Chairman Mr. Dasun Wickramarathna, the GHR team and management attended the programme and participated throughout the day. A gift-giving segment was also held, with GHR presenting gifts to the children, adding a meaningful highlight to an already memorable celebration. This initiative reflects GHR’s commitment to community wellbeing and to supporting programmes that build awareness, strengthen families, and ensure every child is celebrated with dignity.
